LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I am extremely grateful that I get to live on the traditional territory of the Wolastoqiyik (Malisset) and Mi’Kmaq Peoples. I acknowledge the damage and injustice that has been done to First Nations Peoples by settlers and that still needs to be addressed and corrected. I promise to revere this land that I live, play and create on; to treat its resources with respect; and to support Indigenous business and cultural initiatives whenever and wherever possible.

It’s a great example of “a picture’s worth 1000 words”, isn’t it?!

Yes, it is such a powerful image hiding as whimsy! 🙂

Love it! I had an orange cat with exactly the same kind of attitude. 😉

Lol. I’ve had some cats with that attitude, but you’ve even got the color right!

Perfect, my daughter is like this these days 🙈. Self confidence is beautiful but over confidence is not good.

Aw, it’s wonderful that your daughter is feeling good about herself. But you make an important point about the dangers of overconfidence, Anjali.

What a WONDERFUL photo with a wonderful message. As a cat person (my mom said my first word was ‘cat”) it touches my heart as well as sending a lovely, encouraging message. This photo made my day …

That is delightful. Which painter inspired this? Van Gogh? Rembrandt?

Thanks, David. It is, isn’t it?! I couldn’t find an image source or background for this particular version. I would guess it’s fashioned more on Rembrandt.

OMG, i LOVE this artwork – I actually wrote a blog article reflecting on that popular image of the kitten looking in the mirror and seeing the lion. THIS version is so much more empowering than the popular one – and truly embodies ‘confidence’! i’d be honored if you felt like reading my thoughts ( https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/162554741/posts/947 ) and see if they resonate with what you were getting at! thank you for this image.

Thank you, Anastasia, and thank you for your link. There are a number of versions of this image online; I definitely like this one the best.
