Hi. Welcome to my site.
Robby Robin is my alter ego for my blog, my first “literary” character! His journey is a metaphor for my own journey through the world of retirement and grandparenthood. In everyday life I’m known as Jane Fritz. I’m a re-retiree living in Atlantic Canada, enjoying the freedom to pursue some of my interests in more depth than was possible while working. In this blog I hope to share some things I have learned through exploring activities with a vengence starting in my mid-60s (like long distance running and writing for my grandchildren). Various other topics will inevitably pop up, in keeping with a lifetime of experiences, such as: encouraging entrepreneurship (resulting from my work in the IT industry and regional economic development); travel (we’ve been lucky that way); farming exploits (we spent 9 of our early married years living on a farm as transplanted urbanites); quilting; and thoughts on life as they emerge. Sorry, it’s not too focused, is it?! I enjoy learning from others in the blogging community.
Travel, quilting and grandparenting are some of my favourite topics. I am going to enjoy exploring your back posts. It’s always nice to find a connection in the blogging world. Take care.
Thanks for taking the time to explore!
Congratulations! I have nominated you for an Outstanding Blogger Award! Let me know if you have any questions. I’m not sure if you accept nominations these days, but I thought I’d share in case you do.
Thanks so much, Brendan. I had noticed on your award post, in fact, and was thinking about how to respond. Sometime this coming week I will have some kind of response that I hope you will like! 😊
You’re welcome! Take as little or as much time as you need.
Hi, Jane. I have nominated you for the Blogger Recognition Award: https://cordeliasmomstill.com/2018/06/29/bouncing-baby-bunnies-and-blogger-recognition/
Whether you accept or not, know that I think you deserve such recognition. I truly enjoy your blog!
Wow, CM (I saw that someone else referred to you that way, hope you don’t mind!), thank you very much. I will accept. I’ll have to think about my blog post response for a few days. Your pieces of advice are really, really good. And I loved reading about how you got started. Thx again, and keep going with your terrific blog.
Most people refer to me as CM. My readers can call me anything they like so long as they read! Take your time on your response, there’s no deadline. Thanks for accepting.

Thanks for following my blog, Jane. Nice to meet you. I will be following you as well. Not retired yet, but getting to that age. I’m a voice teacher, may never totally retire, unless I can’t physically do it anymore.
Nice to meet you, too, Rosemarie, thanks to heyjude @ Travel Words. I look forward to following your adventures! A voice teacher, very cool. I am very much a recreational chorus alto.
thank you so much for dropping by my blog! I am checking yours out now! Looking good! Alesia
This is one of the aspects of blogging I really enjoy, “meeting” new people. I came across your blog because you and I had both replied or Liked someone else’s blog post, and I was very glad I checked yours out. I’ll be back for sure! Jane
Jane, you’re my heroine! It’s so great that you have time to focus on the things you really love. My kids have always said that I should write for children, so maybe someday I’ll write for my grandchildren, too! Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading about it. 🙂
Thank you. I hope this means that you don’t mind that I included a link to your Books post in my recent post!
Not at all! I’m flattered and happy to meet another book lover.
Hi Jane. Thanks again for the nomination. I reposted and answered your questions. Check it out!

Hi Jane,
Thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog. I had to laugh about your line regarding what made you think if had struggled and gutted out a half marathon, you could run a full. Been there…and it was supremely ugly…lol.
Enjoy your writing keep it up.

Thanks for your encouragement, Steve. I am still trying to sort out fact from fiction in your intriguing blog entries. Love your writing – and your thoughts.
