My daughter and husband (and probably pets) call it “the look”….they knew the face that would stop them in their tracks

I LOVE it. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this homage to every woman on this planet … past, present &, most likely future. All of these quips are wonderful. The last one is my favorite (& I’m not offended at all). I would only add to the last one “AMEN.”

That last one — think it’s very applicable for my daughter right now. Will show it to her. I’ve been called a few names in my day so the Jane Goodale one resonates with me. Bernie

    Loved all of them Jane.
Always necessary to keep the devil on his toes and children always said a certain look from me and they knew they’d gone too far 😀
3 & 4 are very true and it’s a ‘yes’ to last one which reminds me of this one from Helen Mirren (if she really did say it?) …
“At 70 years old, if I could give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be to use the words ‘fuck off’ much more frequently”. 🙂

Ah, yes, another of my favourite quotes. Helen Mirren is my age, and I can’t imagine better advice! If she didn’t initially say it I’m pretty sure she’s more than happy to have it ascribed to her anyway!

  8. My mother had “the look” perfected. I’ve never been able to duplicate it, but my daughter does a pretty good job of it. Her kids know it when they see it and trust me—they RUN! Thanks for a bunch of very good chuckles!

  10. ❤️ Also was recently told motherhood is just whispering “dammit” under your breath a varying number of times a day. Totally true 😂
