I read Richard Powers’ Overstory a few years back, it transformed how I thought of trees. These cartoons have the power to do likewise. Thank you for sharing Jane.

So sad. I keep thinking of the refrain “When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?”

  4. Thanks for an eye opener and hopefully it is not too late.

    • Jane Fritz says:

Thanks, Wayne. We can’t think that it’s too late, but we need to insist on strong, serious restrictions and positive action for restoration. What a big ask from bodies that have shown little commitment to walking the talk.

  5. A horrifying reality! We are destroying this planet with our own hands. Cutting down trees for money and then spending the same money to run “save the planet campaigns”.

Such a sad commentary. This is so serious. My heart aches for the displaced animals AND for the effect this mindless brutalizing of the Rain Forest & other forests has on us all. Unfortunately, man reaps what he sows without consideration … I just want to scream, “WAKE UP” & hope the world hears me …

  8. 😔Yes capitalism is to blame, tragically a forest has no value until it is cut down, but where does this end?

    • Jane Fritz says:

That’s the question we need to answer, not just ask. And consumers are the ones who can turn things around, if they truly understand the chain effects of how things are grown, manufactured, and transported, and think about what we really need and what we don’t really need. Big questions that need big answers – quickly – and serious actions – quickly.

That last one speaks volumes about how the entire human species lives its life.
